About Us
Established in June 2005, The Blue Door offers an eclectic variety of fine arts and crafts. Home to more than 40 of the Springfield area’s finest artists, The Blue Door exhibits a unique blend of wall art, including watercolors, collages, and acrylics. In addition, some artists produce unique hand-made jewelry, while others create clothing for children and adults, furniture and home accessories, ceramics, art glass, quilts, fabric art, photography, note cards and many other items purely for fun. The current owners of the Blue door are Pam Allen and Karla Cosand.
The artists at The Blue Door live and create in central Illinois. The Blue Door reflects the talent and energy of all of its artists. From its signs to its window treatments to the ever-changing décor and imaginative displays, one can see the joy of living expressed in the work of the artists, making The Blue Door a place where happiness is always on display.
The Blue Door has become a favorite of Springfield shoppers and has been an unexpected Springfield art experience for convention attendees and tourists, not only from Illinois and other states but also for those from around the world. In fact, The Blue Door was voted the Illinois Times “Best Art Gallery in 2007 and 2008.”
